Dice probability in a nutshell
With one die, every face is equally likely: 1 in 6 for a d6, 1 in 20 for a d20. With two or more dice, middle totals become more common because there are more ways to make them. Two d6 can make 7 in six ways (1+6, 2+5, 3+4, 4+3, 5+2, 6+1) but 2 in only one way (1+1). That is why 7 is the most common roll in games like Catan and Craps, and why the average of many dice clusters around the middle.

Is the online dice roller fair?
Yes. Each die uses your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator with rejection sampling, so every face has exactly the same chance — often fairer than cheap physical dice, which can be slightly unbalanced.
What do d4, d6 and d20 mean?
The number after "d" is the number of faces. A d6 is a normal six-sided die, a d20 has twenty faces and is used in Dungeons & Dragons, and a d4 is a four-sided pyramid.
