Random Name Picker — Spin a Wheel of Names

Paste your list of names and spin. Each picked name is removed from the wheel, so everyone gets a turn before anyone goes twice.

Winners

    We have a winner!

A fair way to choose names

Whether you are calling on students, drawing a raffle or picking a giveaway winner, people trust a result they can see. Paste your names, put the wheel on the big screen and spin: the pointer lands on a random name and that name is taken off the wheel. Keep spinning until everyone has had a turn, then press Reset.

    For teachers

    For giveaways and raffles

Paste the entrants' names or usernames — duplicates are allowed, so someone with three tickets can be listed three times. Use the "Suspense" spin time for a dramatic draw on a live stream, and the full-screen button to show only the wheel. If you are drawing ticket numbers instead of names, the 1–100 number wheel is ready to go.

    Privacy

Student and entrant names never leave your device. The list is kept in your browser's local storage so it is still there next time; clear it at any time with the Clear button.

    Frequently asked questions

Does the name picker avoid picking the same person twice?

Yes. "Remove winner after spin" is on by default here, so each name leaves the wheel once it is picked. Press Reset to put everyone back for the next lesson.

Can I paste my class list?

Yes. Copy a column of names from Excel, Google Sheets, Word or your school system and paste it into the box. Each line becomes one name.

Is my class list stored online?

No. The list is saved only in your own browser so it is there next time. Nothing is uploaded, which keeps student names private.

Can I keep separate lists for different classes?

Use "Copy link to this wheel" to save a link for each class — bookmark them, and each link opens with that class list.

    Is it fair?

Every name has the same chance. The winner is chosen with your browser’s secure random number generator before the wheel starts turning.
